Save Money On Fuel With A Diesel Car
By: Acklam Car Centre
Owning a diesel car can help you save a lot of money on fuel. Due to the ever increasing rise in petrol prices in the UK, the demand for fuel efficient cars is at a parallel. As a diesel engine saves up to one third fuel per mile than petrol powered engines, it is considered to be very fuel efficient. It uses higher compression ratios and combustion temperatures. Though diesel is a non renewable source and releases carbon dioxide into the air, it does so at a much less threatening and harmful rate compared to petrol.
Diesel cars are more efficient in terms of the average miles they give per gallon of fuel. You can save more money on fuel with a diesel car, by following some simple tips.
Diesel cars can save you money, if driven carefully taking care in consideration your speed. Driving faster generates more power, using more fuel. You can save a considerably large amount by slowing down a few miles an hour. You can keep your speed at the posted limit, while driving on the motorways thereby saving about 20% of diesel.
If you keep your car moving without having to stop, you can save diesel, which in turn saves you some money on fuel. Driving in congested traffic or starting and stopping the car very often while driving will end up in using more diesel than that spent by staying in steady motion. You can try to find out some alternate routes to aid in saving fuel.
Air conditioners in the diesel cars use a lot of power. If you turn the AC unit on, it causes the power to get diverted to the compressor for emitting the cold air into the car. Diesel engines need to work harder in order to compensate the power that was lost. Hence, more amount of diesel is used to keep the speed of the car up. It is therefore advisable to turn the air conditioner off, whenever possible.
One simple way to save money on fuel with a diesel car is to keep the tank full. Running the car with less fuel can shorten the life of the fuel pump and running on empty can destroy the pump. Moreover, filling the tank full saves the time and money you need to spend on travelling to the station several times.
If your car is too heavy, the engine needs to work harder to move the vehicle. You can reduce unnecessary weight in your car and save money on fuel.

The Best Car Battery To Buy
By: Frederic Joseph
Every car comes with one, but some motorists act as if this particular component is completely maintenance free. What am I talking about? Your car’s battery. Technological advances have made “maintenance free” batteries standard equipment on virtually every vehicle produced today. However, the term “maintenance free” is a misnomer, one that can leave you stranded if you do not perform proper and regular maintenance. Battery maintenance isn’t difficult to do, so let’s take a look at what you can do to keep your car running.
Before discussing battery maintenance, please make sure that your battery is, in fact, the sealed type. If it isn’t, then the “maintenance free” label certainly does not apply and you will need to add water on a regular basis. Unsealed batteries are easy to spot as they have small vent caps on top of the battery which can be twisted open. You will need to periodically add distilled water to maintain water levels; more so in the summer months as water tends to evaporate quicker. Do not let your battery run low or run out of water as the battery’s cells can be ruined.
If your battery is of the sealed variety, then the “maintenance free” label is still only partially true since the term only extends to you not needing to add water to the cells as you would with an unsealed battery.
With any type of car battery – sealed or unsealed – you must do the following to help keep it working properly:
1. Clean the cables. Disconnect the cables from the battery and clean them with a wire brush that has been doused in a home made mixture [the mixture combines one tablespoon of baking soda with one cup of water]. Use this same mixture to clean off the top of the battery; use a small and clean paint brush to apply the solution where needed.
2. Lubricate the posts. A small dab of petroleum jelly on each post will help keep your cables clean and free of corrosion longer. In addition, the jelly will make it easier for you to slip the cables back onto the battery.
3. Check connections. Besides the connection between the cable and the posts, make sure that the battery hold down bar is securely in place. Not all cars have or need a battery hold down bar, but if yours has come so equipped, you will need to put it back in its proper place.
That’s it! Car battery maintenance is an easy task and one that should be performed on an annual basis. If you keep your battery properly maintained, you will extend its life and greatly reduce the chance that your battery will fail you at an inopportune time. Yes, the “maintenance free” label is incorrect, so please don’t be lulled into forgetting to do something that should never be overlooked.
Ever been in a situation where you are in the middle of nowhere, you are tired and hungry and when you are about to leave your car would not start? This is indeed a typical scenario. A dead or weak battery often is the reason for such unfortunate situation. If it happened to you once or twice, the situation is crying out to you. Possibly, you will need to buy a new battery car charger so you will not end up in such difficult position again.
But how do you choose the best battery charger for your car?
Certainly, there are so many brands and models of car battery charger available in the market today. If you are a novice in automobiles, parts and accessories, finding the right car battery will be very challenging. To help you decide and to narrow down your choices, following are tips on how to choose the best charger for your car:
Know Which Type Suits Your Car’s Requirements
If you opt to buy rechargeable batteries, take note that you will also need to buy a decent charger to use. They come in three types. First is the AC charger. This type is the most convenient since you can easily plug this charger in any AC wall socket. The second type is the solar charger. This type does not require any plugging. It can function and operate with the use of the sun’s powerful rays. The third type is the 12 volt charger which is very expedient and can be plugged even in a home’s renewable energy system or even via your car’s cigarette lighter.
Furthermore, it is important to identify which battery supports your car battery voltage. If you are driving a gas powered automobile, you are most probably running on a 12 voltage power. Conversely, if your car is a diesel powered vehicle, your car is most likely to using a 24 voltage power. So make sure that you know which type support your car’s battery voltage before purchasing a car battery charger.
Understand The Different Car Battery Charger Features
Compare the different features of car battery charger brands to help narrow down your choices. Look for the adjust charge rate of the charger to prevent battery damage and or its compatibility with automotive or light marine battery
Maximize The Use Consumer Reports And Product Buying Guide Online
If you are clueless on which brand of car battery charger to buy you can read different consumer reports and product buying guide online. You will find information not just the price comparison but also the different car battery charger features. Moreover, you will see satisfactory reviews and commentaries from past consumers.
Check Sales During Fall Or Spring
If you are not in a hurry to buy a car charger battery, you may want to wait for fall or spring sales. The price of car battery chargers drops during fall and spring. You can also read through catalogs or paper ads from different auto parts and Sears.
Decide Whether To Buy Online Or Through Local Auto Parts
Online stores are very popular these days. It gives customers the convenience to choose and compare prices with other brands and online stores. It is important to make sure that when you are buying products online, you only transact with reputable online business stores. Be wary when leaving your account or personal information. In addition, most local auto parts also have their own websites to service the online consumers. Check if traveling to the store will save you more money than paying for the shipping fee.
Jump start your car and choose only the best car battery charger. The things mentioned above will surely help you make the wise choice. Good luck
Should you be looking for the best car battery to purchase you must know some of its characteristics, such as the cold cranking amps (CCA), the reserve capacity along with the group size. Let’s start with the CCA.
CCA can be used in order to measure the ability of the battery to start the vehicle when it is cold outside. You need to purchase one that has a CCA rating which mustn’t exceed the vehicle’s original equipment manufacturer (OEM) cranking rate. If you don’t be aware of rating for the car, you will have to check the owner’s manual. If you happen to reside in an area which has a cold climate, it is recommended to buy an automobile battery that has a high CCA rating because of the reason that a chilled and sluggish engine will require a lot more capacity to start up.
Moving on to the reserve capacity, you need to know that it’s the amount of minutes by which your automobile will run using only the battery if the alternator fails. Putting things inside a technical perspective, a completely charged battery will run at 25 amps and when the voltage falls below the minimum 10.5 amps necessary for order to run the car, you must change it with a brand new one. Obviously, you should buy an automobile battery that accompany the longest reserve capacity you’ll find because of the reason why you might need that capacity in the unfortunate case in which your automobile will not start.
The group size concerns the outside dimensions of the batteries along with the keeping the ability terminals. Should you don’t be aware of proper size for the vehicle, ask your mechanic or check the owner’s manual.
Let’s talk a little bit about the types of batteries. Basically you have two options: low maintenance (non-sealed) or maintenance-free. The first is recommended should you run your car in hotter climates. Taking into consideration the battery is not sealed, you will be able to add water whenever necessary. The 2nd kind of battery has a longer operational life and it is also takes less time to recharge. Their bad thing is that they’re vulnerable to various failures due to the shedding of the active plate material that with time will weaken.
To get the best car battery to buy, acquire one that’s “fresh”. Quite simply, avoid purchasing a battery that’s been about the shop’s shelves in excess of Six months. Don’t forget to check when the battery is made having a look at the case or the attached label. The manufacturing date includes a 2-digit code with one number and one letter (”A” means January; “B” for February and so forth); as the digit will represent the year (”11″ is recognized as 2011). We recommend that you shouldn’t purchase a battery from a gas station as most likely they’ll be quite old.
As far as the warranty can be involved, it is determined by a set of 2 numbers which you will find for auction on it. Your priority will be to be aware of free replacement period. In other words, the interval of your time in which you’ll obtain a free replacement should the battery you purchased does not work anymore. Another number you will discover on the label tells the total duration of the warranty.
We recommend that you buy a battery from one of these manufacturers: Napa, Exide, Duralast, Diehard, Everstart and others as well. Talk to your mechanic because he knows what type and brand of battery you need to get for the vehicle.
Your best bet when choosing car battery replacement choices is to first go to your local garage to find out what kind of battery type you need for your car. This will prevent any compatibility issues when cross mixing brands such as BMW and Mercedes.
Amazon and eBay buying tactics
The best thing on Amazon is the fact that the free shipping deal is on most of their range. This is not only convenient but also allows you to get the peace of mind that you are not pay extra than what you would at your local shopping mall. Also the speed of delivery makes it a very reliable and trustworthy place to do some shopping. Overall the best deals can be found on the first 10 results when a particular phrase is typed in. How their algorithm works to give you these results is not something that I care to place comment on but I will say that it saves a lot of time.
eBay is a completely different beast when looking for car battery replacement options. The automotive industry has its own sections and batteries are sold there by very reputable sellers. These can be found by checking out the number of sales transaction that they have done in the past and what they’re average feedback rating is. Look at the description of the sales page to determine the battery size and life expectancy as these indicate the amount of time that passes before you need another replacement battery for your automobile.

Tips for Selling Your Used Car for Top Dollar
By: Espen Smith
Over the next six months, gas prices in the United States are expected to rise to over five dollars per gallon, setting a new record for the cost of gas and making it more difficult for the average commuter to even afford to get to work. Because of these anticipated rises in gas prices, older used vehicles are now increasing in demand, because people want cars that can get more miles to the gallon.
Used cars are selling for rates that are well over blue book value, and not just in private sales. Even dealers are getting in on the action and paying out more for trade in value of used cars than they have in years.
If you are sitting on a used vehicle that you want to sell, you could be sitting on a gold mine!
Before you jump up and list your car for sale on craigslist, follow some of these tips to make sure that you get the very top dollar for your used vehicle.
Check out the blue book value of your vehicle. This can easily be done online. Simply have the information about the make, model, and year of your vehicle and find an online blue book estimator. Be honest about the condition of your vehicle when you plug the stats into the estimator to get the most accurate value of your vehicle.
Once you know how much your vehicle is valued at by the blue book standard, look online for vehicles that are similar to yours and see what they are selling for in your area. Consider contacting dealerships and see what they are selling your year, make, and model of vehicle for, and also what they are paying out for your year, make, and model.
Keep your maintenance current. The better you take care of your vehicle, the more likely that you will get a good amount of money for it on trade in. A routine oil change can potentially add thousands of dollars to the value of your car over time.
Fix the little things before you put it on the market. If your AC doesnt work, fix it! If your windshield is cracked, replace it! If the tires are bad, change them! If you have body damage, find a Utah auto body shop and spruce it up! If the interior is dirty, clean it! If the cassette player doesnt work ..well, upgrade to a CD player!

Bobby Saadian Shares Info On Types Of Car Related Accidents
By: Lara Stan
Lara Stan
Types of Auto related Accidents Bobby Saadian.
Auto Product Liability
It is the duty manufacturers and retailers alike to ensure that the products they provide are safe and reliable to the customers they serve. This includes motorcycle makers, both foreign and domestic.
Manufacturers are responsible for protecting their consumers form any foreseeable problems that may occur while using the product. Product liability claims against a manufacturer are successful when they prove that the product has caused harm or was not rationally safe for its intended purpose.
A product is not considered safe for consumers if:
* There is a manufacturing defect.
* There is failure to adequately instruct the user on use of the product.
* The design defective or unsafe.
Therefore if a motorcycle user is harmed because of the product (motorcycle), or a component of the motorcycle is defective, the victim may have basis to file a product liability claim.
Construction Zone Accidents Bobby Saadian
All drivers are required to slow down and adhere to modified speed limits in construction zones. Unfortunately, drivers do not always adhere to the posted speed limits through construction zones. As a result, they often lose control over uneven roads, sharp turns or merging roads, which can result in construction workers and/or other motorists being struck due to negligence.
These conditions are particularly dangerous to motorcyclists who obey the posted signs but are often unseen by reckless drivers or unsafe working conditions in these areas.
Road Hazard Accidents
When dealing with personal injury law, the terminology ‘dangerous road accidents’ refers to the improper repair of roadways or creation of hazards on existing roadways by construction companies or other road workers. Cracked highways, damaged roads, improperly repaired freeways, and negligent employees intended to maintenance all of the above can lend a hand in creating conditions that in turn cause a catastrophic accident.
If you were injured by scrap or debris that was left by a construction crew, or you were injured due to some other object that fell of a truck or motor vehicle, you are entitled to compensation. In this event, you are not liable for damage or your injuries.
Drug Related Accidents

Symptoms of a Bad Transmission
By: David Friedman
The transmission is a critical component of overall vehicle operation and without it you would not be able to drive your car. A transmission allows you to move your vehicle forwards and backwards at different speeds. For car owners, transmission failure can be a complete nightmare, costing thousands of dollars to fix or replace. Nobody knows when or where a transmission will fail, so there is another inconvenience of possibly being stranded in the middle of nowhere or on your way to an important function. Although transmission failure is not something any car owner wants to hear about, there are warning signs that may indicate your vehicle is having some kind of transmission problems. Remember, even if your vehicle is experiencing one or more of these warning signs, it does not necessarily mean it is the transmission. Symptoms of a bad transmission overlap with numerous other common vehicle problems, so it is always best to take your vehicle in to have it inspected before just jumping to any irrational conclusion. Bringing your vehicle in for an evaluation and possibly catching a minor problem before it becomes a major issues, might save you thousands of dollars. All that said, below are some of the more common symptoms of a bad transmission:
Leaky Fluid-transmissions require fluid in order to function and are the lifeblood of the transmission, serving to keep the internal parts cool and lubricated. One warning sign of a bad transmission is when your vehicle begins to leak transmission fluid. If you park on a white surface, such as a concrete driveway or in a garage, you will be able to tell if you have such fluid leakage. If you park on a dirt or grass surface you will need to place a white cloth or blanket underneath the hood part of your car to find such leakage. If you notice any pinkish fluid leaking out, then you will know that it is from the transmission. Also any very dark or burned looking fluid is another sign that the transmission may be having a problem since optimal color should be a dark or cherry red. Any fluids leaking from your vehicle are cause for concern and warrant taking your vehicle to get transmission repair at as soon as possible.
Slipping-another warning sign is transmission gear slippage. This is usually one of the more common signs of transmission failure. You will know if there is a slippage problem if you try to accelerate from a stopped position. Vehicles with normal functioning transmissions allow for a smooth acceleration without hesitation, however a vehicle that may be experiencing a transmission problem would slow down this acceleration process and at the same time your vehicle’s RPM spikes up. A jerking motion when putting the vehicle in gear or accelerating from a stand still would be a sign of gear slippage as well.
Surging-when driving your car at steady speeds, you should never notice any type of jerking movements. Bad transmissions usually cause vehicles to surge or lurch ahead. You might hear the RPMs have a sudden increase as well. Again, this issue needs to be solved right away and you should take your car to a service center as soon as youre able.
Any Type of Burning Odor-a burning smell can be many things, and this includes your transmission. A burning odor coming from your transmission fluid means the fluid has broken down. When this happens, corrosive agents and varnish accumulate throughout the transmission. When this happens, heat builds up and can ultimately cause complete transmission failure. Transmission overheating can be disastrous, so if you ever smell any kind of burning odor, stop driving immediately until you have your vehicle checked out by a professional.
Non-existent Transmission Action-transmissions that do not engage no matter what gear you are in can indicate a serious transmission problem. There could also be some sort of electronic failure causing your transmission not to engage, so best thing to do is have it looked at right away to determine the extent of the problem. Many repair shops will offer free towing with repair if youre within a certain distance from their location.
Dashboard Lights-your dashboard is your friend and usually (not all the time) if your vehicle is having a problem a warning light will come on to alert you. If you notice that your check engine light comes on, take your vehicle in for an inspection as soon as possible. Although the check engine light can be indicative of many things, even something as simple as an electronic sensor or computer chip malfunction, it can also indicate a possible transmission problem, so it is always better to be safe than sorry here. Dont always think the worst case scenario just because you see warning lights come on in your vehicle. Your vehicle is simply alerting you that an issue needs to be addressed.
There are many things that can go wrong when driving your vehicle, so it is always wise to have your vehicle checked on a routine basis and at specific mileage intervals according to your owner’s manual. There are over 300 moving parts in many transmissions and any one of these could be the cause of your problem. A transmission problem is usually the extreme when it comes to diagnosing different vehicle problems, but it is a problem that no car owner desires to have. As soon as you notice any of the above symptoms or other abnormalities when driving your vehicle, dont take chances and have the vehicle checked out. Routine maintenance can be a low cost of way of preventing major transmission failure down the road. Although there are no guarantees of preventing any kind of possible transmission problems, having knowledge about the symptoms of a bad transmission may prevent further damage to this vital component and save you a lot of money in the long run.

Tips On Getting A New Or Replacement Keyless Remote For Your Car
By: James Jacob
Car owners are increasingly recognizing the benefits provided by remote entry and keys. However, they can even save more while getting a new or replacement remote entry and keys by going to third party service providers without compromising the service or product quality. Read on to find out how.
Automotive keyless entry remotes and keys are usually, more or less, similar to other keys like the normal door keys in size or maybe even smaller sometimes (when your door key is a big one). They fit well on your key chain and pockets. With most of the manufacturers incorporating these devices in their cars, they have almost become standard features in most cars today.
By now, the knowledge of keyless entry and keys or key fob (as also called) have become quite common amongst car owners. Even thieves are aware of them, and some of them who are tech savvy have found out ways to hack into such advanced devices and steal away the vehicle, at times. However, they are still one of the best and certain ways to keep your car safe. In addition, keyless entry remotes and keys provide various convenient functions that add to the pleasant experiences that are brought along by contemporary cars.
Keyless remotes brings you the convenience of locking and unlocking your car doors from a distance. After getting out of your car, one push of a button on the keyless remote ensures that all the doors of your car are safely shut, no need to check each. Likewise, you can open your car doors from a distance or set the alarm while you are away and so on.
There could be typically two reasons for which a car owner buys keyless remotes and keys. The first could be that he/she owns an older car model that was manufactured without the keyless functions incorporated in it and wants one installed. Another is the case of losing the keyless remote and keys. This is a common situation amongst many car users whose car has a keyless remote feature. Being very compact, these remotes and keys could be quite easily misplaced. In these cases the owner can either go to the original car manufacturers and ask them to install or program the device for him/her, or go to other third party shops for the same. The latter are considered preferable as it provides a considerable saving.
However, some experts also advise that you can do the programming by yourself. This (as per the instructions) can be done with a spare key which you might have received with the master or original one that you have lost. With the spare key and a manual of the vehicle where the programming instructions are given, or in case if you don't have the manual you can search for the same online, and when you have found one, you can read it up and re-program the device. This, if done successfully, could be cost saving, in fact a cost free method to get your device back to work.
Although possible, not every one prefers to adopt the cost free method by themselves, sometimes because the car owner doesn't have time and patience to search for the spare key or the manual, then read it up and follow it throughout. Another reason is that some just prefer to get the job done by a professional, although with a cost, it ensures that the job will be done correctly and in lesser time excusing yourself from the otherwise hit and trial approach. If you are looking for a keyless remote, you can find one easily on the Internet. You can just type in the car make or model name with a related keyword, for example – Cadillac remote or Cadillac fob key and so on.

Not Worth The Hassle
By: Albert Elliott
It was a lovely Saturday morning in February, the sun was out and the birds were singing. Lying in bed, trying to think of things to do in this beautiful day but the only thing that comes to mind is shopping. I really dont want to go shopping, as Ive been told that I spend too much.
After an hour of just lazing around in bed thinking, I finally decided to go shopping, even if it meant I have to spend money. Everyone seems to be busy today, so I guess Im going on my own which isnt very good as I tend to spend more when I go on my own.
I left the house after I had breakfast and planned not to return till dinner time, I decided to eat out for lunch as I really wanted some greasy fry food. I was still deciding which shopping centre to go to as I was getting in the car.
I chose to stay local, I couldnt be bothered to drive and my local shopping centre was 5 minutes from my house. After walking around for a couple of hours, I felt hungry but I couldnt find anywhere exciting to eat, so I had my usual tuna baguette and a lovely hot cup of tea.
It was the first time ever that I didnt spend too much; I only bought one item which wasnt even for me. After hours of just walking around, I decided to call it a day and go home. Got in the car and was ready to go but it didnt start.
I tried again but still nothing, I couldnt believe my luck. The car battery was dead, first thing I did was call my dad. While I was waiting for my dad I kept cursing my car, thats when I decided I was going to buy myself a new road bike. Having cars is too much headache and I dont have the patience to deal with it.
