Caprice Tail Lights – The Power Of Impact

By: Louie Liu

Style can sometimes be subtle and sometimes it can be high impact. Subtle style is best when the object or product will be observed at leisure and there is plenty of time for the onlooker to discern the subtleties of style. But when the onlooker has only a few moments to have a look at your car you need to have high impact styling to get noticed.

And if you are to break up the styling of the car into the style delivered by the various components of the car you will find the one component that stands out as far as high impact styling potential is concerned are the tail lights. Tail lights by the very nature of the function that they need to perform have to be very visible and noticeable. When this need is combined with great styling you get a truly high impact look. Therefore if you own a car to which you want to give a contemporary image such as a Chevrolet Caprice then you should consider the latest Caprice tail lights.

And you can check out the latest aftermarket tail lights for your Chevrolet Caprice by going online. You will find the sober and classy styling of Euro tail lights and the modern allure of LED tail lights. You can even get the Euro style look along with LED light sources.

A big bright tail light does more than give your car high impact styling. Because, though in the dark even less bright tail lights are visible, but when the visibility is poor say due to a fog only truly bright tail lights are able to shine through and announce the presence of your car on the road. And that can be the difference between a safe drive and an accident taking place.

Though the latest tail lights look great and perform wonderfully they are not very expensive. And you will find they are quite affordable. Also the tail lights are easy to install and once you get the package you can start to enjoy their performance only a short while later. You can see the latest Caprice tail lights at www.ilovebodykits.com.

Tips for Selling Your Used Car for Top Dollar

Tips for Selling Your Used Car for Top Dollar

By: Espen Smith

Over the next six months, gas prices in the United States are expected to rise to over five dollars per gallon, setting a new record for the cost of gas and making it more difficult for the average commuter to even afford to get to work. Because of these anticipated rises in gas prices, older used vehicles are now increasing in demand, because people want cars that can get more miles to the gallon.

Used cars are selling for rates that are well over blue book value, and not just in private sales. Even dealers are getting in on the action and paying out more for trade in value of used cars than they have in years.

If you are sitting on a used vehicle that you want to sell, you could be sitting on a gold mine!

Before you jump up and list your car for sale on craigslist, follow some of these tips to make sure that you get the very top dollar for your used vehicle.

Check out the blue book value of your vehicle. This can easily be done online. Simply have the information about the make, model, and year of your vehicle and find an online blue book estimator. Be honest about the condition of your vehicle when you plug the stats into the estimator to get the most accurate value of your vehicle.

Once you know how much your vehicle is valued at by the blue book standard, look online for vehicles that are similar to yours and see what they are selling for in your area. Consider contacting dealerships and see what they are selling your year, make, and model of vehicle for, and also what they are paying out for your year, make, and model.

Keep your maintenance current. The better you take care of your vehicle, the more likely that you will get a good amount of money for it on trade in. A routine oil change can potentially add thousands of dollars to the value of your car over time.

Fix the little things before you put it on the market. If your AC doesn’t work, fix it! If your windshield is cracked, replace it! If the tires are bad, change them! If you have body damage, find a Utah auto body shop and spruce it up! If the interior is dirty, clean it! If the cassette player doesn’t work…..well, upgrade to a CD player!

Why Used Cars Are Sometimes Better

Why Used Cars Are Sometimes Better

By: Acklam Car Centre

If you are interested in a high value alternative to buying a brand new car, a used car can be the best option for you. Used cars have a stabilised rate of depreciation that makes them much cheaper than new cars. The technological advancements have made it very easy for you to search for a used car suiting your budget and requirement.

Affordability

The main reason for why used cars are better is affordability. Buying a brand new car is more expensive than buying a used one. The tax procurement and registration fees required for used cars are less than those procured on the brand new cars. Moreover, the initial costs on a new car are hefty. Financial institutions generally require the customers to make down a payment of at least 10% on a new car loan. If you make fewer down payments, then you need to pay high monthly installments.

Certified pre owned programs

Certified pre owned (CPO) programs are increasing nowadays, which have made purchase of used cars a better option for buyers. Luxury car brands have started these programs and many manufacturers have instituted them. Buying CPO cars offer you a lot of benefits. Manufacturers consider only latest models of the low mileage used cars that have no history of major damage for their CPO programs. They make a thorough inspection before providing certification. Hence, you can get guarantee that the used car you want to buy is free from any problems or issues. Some manufacturers even offer special financing on CPO cars at lower rates than new car loan rates. CPO cars may be more expensive than regular used cars, but they are value for money and give you ultimate peace of mind.

Negotiating the rate

Negotiation is an added advantage of buying a used car. You can always negotiate with a seller of used cars. You cannot expect this facility, while buying a brand new car. If you have bargaining tactics, you can get a good deal. Nowadays, many car dealers are keeping their attention on offering great deals on used cars. Buying a used car can be beneficial, if you follow the steps provided below.

The first and most important step is to spend some time in researching. You can always read online reviews, customer reports or ask friends and colleagues. Then determine the makes and models that interest you. Some websites allow you to see the photos of used cars, which help you get an idea about them. It is important to decide how much you are willing to spend for a used car. This can help to narrow down your search for a used car.

Once you have decided the car dealer and the make or model according to your requirements, you can check the car personally. Check whether the car has any scratches, corrosion spots, dents, excessive tire wear or any other problems.

The car dealers generally allow you to take a test drive. During your test drive, check whether there is any irregular noise or vibration. If possible, you can test drive the car on motorways to asses it’s performance. Used cars save you a lot of money. Spending a few hours researching for the best used cars around can help you find the car you want.

Tips On Getting A New Or Replacement Keyless Remote For Your Car

By: James Jacob

Car owners are increasingly recognizing the benefits provided by remote entry and keys. However, they can even save more while getting a new or replacement remote entry and keys by going to third party service providers without compromising the service or product quality. Read on to find out how.

Automotive keyless entry remotes and keys are usually, more or less, similar to other keys like the normal door keys in size or maybe even smaller sometimes (when your door key is a big one). They fit well on your key chain and pockets. With most of the manufacturers incorporating these devices in their cars, they have almost become standard features in most cars today.

By now, the knowledge of keyless entry and keys or key fob (as also called) have become quite common amongst car owners. Even thieves are aware of them, and some of them who are tech savvy have found out ways to hack into such advanced devices and steal away the vehicle, at times. However, they are still one of the best and certain ways to keep your car safe. In addition, keyless entry remotes and keys provide various convenient functions that add to the pleasant experiences that are brought along by contemporary cars.

Keyless remotes brings you the convenience of locking and unlocking your car doors from a distance. After getting out of your car, one push of a button on the keyless remote ensures that all the doors of your car are safely shut, no need to check each. Likewise, you can open your car doors from a distance or set the alarm while you are away and so on.

There could be typically two reasons for which a car owner buys keyless remotes and keys. The first could be that he/she owns an older car model that was manufactured without the keyless functions incorporated in it and wants one installed. Another is the case of losing the keyless remote and keys. This is a common situation amongst many car users whose car has a keyless remote feature. Being very compact, these remotes and keys could be quite easily misplaced. In these cases the owner can either go to the original car manufacturers and ask them to install or program the device for him/her, or go to other third party shops for the same. The latter are considered preferable as it provides a considerable saving.

However, some experts also advise that you can do the programming by yourself. This (as per the instructions) can be done with a spare key which you might have received with the master or original one that you have lost. With the spare key and a manual of the vehicle where the programming instructions are given, or in case if you don't have the manual you can search for the same online, and when you have found one, you can read it up and re-program the device. This, if done successfully, could be cost saving, in fact a cost free method to get your device back to work.

Although possible, not every one prefers to adopt the cost free method by themselves, sometimes because the car owner doesn't have time and patience to search for the spare key or the manual, then read it up and follow it throughout. Another reason is that some just prefer to get the job done by a professional, although with a cost, it ensures that the job will be done correctly and in lesser time excusing yourself from the otherwise hit and trial approach. If you are looking for a keyless remote, you can find one easily on the Internet. You can just type in the car make or model name with a related keyword, for example – Cadillac remote or Cadillac fob key and so on.

Give Me A Bigger Car Already

Give Me A Bigger Car Already

By: Albert Elliott

I’ve been in my current sales role for just over a year; I travel the length and width of the country selling the latest technology to small to medium size businesses. I’ve been doing really well in this role, I’ve been meeting and beating my targets on a regular basis, last quarter I was the best selling sales man and got given employee of the month for December.

When I was appointed this role the sales director gave me a company car, it’s a nice 3 door Audi A3. But, because it is a 3 door I’ve had to keep my BMW 5 series for personal use, it’s very difficult to transport a family of four in a 3 door. Ideally I would prefer just to have the one car as it would save me an arm and leg on insurance, road tax and maintenance.

Our company has a company car structure, whereby if you reach a certain number of sales within a set period of time you are eligible for a better company car, it works as an incentive. I met the criteria for a 4 door Audi A4 last September but, the fleet management services people tell me they just cannot get hold of any Audi A4 models at the moment. They must be good if money can’t buy them!

Being a company car I’ve opted for the 2.0 litre diesel which has 168bhp and can do 0-62mph in 8.6 seconds, not bad for an executive saloon car. The fuel economy is really good too, on a combined cycle it can return 55 miles to the gallon; on the motorways it should do 68.9 miles to the gallon. As it’s a company car I will not have to worry about maintenance or repairs.

I’ve been told I should have one in March, as soon as I do, I’m going to put my 5 Series up for sale it’s getting a bit old and tired now and I definitely could do with saving a few pounds.

Do You Think Your Rental Car Is Safe?

Do You Think Your Rental Car Is Safe?

By: Daniel Robert

It is alleged that the rental companies wait until it is convenient for them to get safety recall repairs. If the car is not on the road the rental car agencies lose income and they schedule its safety recall repairs to suit their convenience.

In the wake of reports of injuries and deaths in rental cars, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has begun investigating whether the rental cars are fixed for any safety recalls and problems.

The NHTSA opened an investigation called the ‘audit query’ into the recall-remedy completion by rental car companies. Such ‘audit query’ investigations by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) are rare. There was only one ‘audit query’ in 2010 and two, in 2009.

In the wake of one especially fatal rental car accident that cost two young people their lives and the car rental company, $15 million the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has launched an investigation to check if rental car companies are allowing safety recall repairs on their vehicles religiously. According to the NHTSA, there was a steep spike in fatal crashes involving rental vehicles listed for safety recalls.

As part of its investigation, the NHTSA requested:

* Information on recall notices issued for 29 US vehicles models most commonly favored by rental-car fleets

* Chrysler, Ford and General Motors to provide information on all their three million vehicles favored by rental companies in wake of recalls

* Information on the models Chevrolet Malibu, Ford Fusion and Chrysler Sebring that are listed for safety recalls

* A report from the auto makers as to how long it took to complete their safety recall repairs

* Information on how the top ten rental car companies in the US reacted to recall notices and complied to safety recall repairs

According to the NHTSA:

* The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) was asked to prohibit rental car agencies if they have complied to the safety recalls by allowing safety repairs on their cars

* No car rental company should risk an injury, death or lawsuit by continuing to put the recalled vehicle on the road for rental

* The car rental company should not ply any recalled vehicles until the safety repairs are made

* A rental company should not let its corporate greed precede the safety of the consumers

* The auto makers also should send the safety recall notices to the car rental companies in a timely manner.

Federal traffic safety officials are investigating to check if rental car agencies respond to recalls promptly or let their convenience precede in having their vehicles fixed.

* Under the federal law, no dealership should sell vehicles that are subject to open safety recalls

* An auto maker should notify all the rental car companies to take the recalled vehicles out of service and repair them before returning them to service

* There should be laws that make rental car companies repair recalled vehicles mandatory before they put their cars back on the roads

The NHTSA recall database offers information to consumers about vehicle recalls in general. This kind of information would help consumers decide on the use of rental cars.

Automobile Repair Advice; Driving On Wet Streets In The Northfield, Macedonia, Nordonia Ohio Area, And The Automotive Brake System

By: Claude Whitacre

The Northfield, Macedonia, Nordonia Ohio vicinity is know as remarkably precarious when traveling by car in wet driving conditions.

Your automobile or van brake system is in point of fact comprised of two diverse types of systems, Hydraulics and Friction Materials. This is the thing that occurs within these systems between the time your foot compresses on the brake pedal and your automobile or van arives at a complete stop.

Your vehicle's braking system has hydraulics, which include the master cylinder.

While pressure is applied to the brake pedal, the master cylinder creates hydraulic pressure which presses brake fluid to the wheel brakes.

The brakes friction materials incorporates the brake pads and the drum brake shoes.

Your car or truck brake linings are composed of high temperature materials that produce the friction that slows your car.

Here are several distinctive kinds of brakes.

Disc brakes incorporates a disc brake rotor, that's attached to the wheel, and a caliper, that contains the disc brake pads. Hydraulic pressure out of your master cylinder will cause the caliper piston to clamp the disc brake rotor between the disc brake pads. This makes friction between the pads and rotor, causing your car to slow down or slow down and then stop.

Your drum brakes incorporates a brake drum attached to the wheel, a wheel cylinder, brake shoes and brake return springs. Hydraulic pressure from the master cylinder causes the wheel cylinder to press the brake shoes against the brake drum. This makes friction between the shoes and drum to slow or stop your car.

Your vehicle's parking brake makes use of cables to mechanically apply the brakes (mostly the rear brake.) This is used to inhibit the car from rolling when not being driven.

After that we have your anti-lock brakes. The anti-lock brakes are truly a braking system developed for safety.

Computer-controlled anti-lock braking systems (ABS) are a recently established safety feature. At the time sudden stops are made, the ABS prevents wheel lock-up. The system is comprised of wheel-speed sensors that keep an eye on wheel rotation, computer-controlled hydraulics that pulse the brakes on and off quickly, and the on-board computer.

Indications that your car or truck brakes might need service include screeching sounds as you begin to apply the brakes. The screeching sound is your brakes telling you that they need to be serviced, perhaps just needing new brake pads. A grinding noise also means that your brakes need service. Brakes that fail while you are attempting to stop your car are no joke. You need to get them serviced as soon as possible.

Pick an area automobile service center that specializes in brake work. Establish if they can service your brakes while you wait, or at the least offer you a courtesy ride home or to work. A loaner car may be needed. Ask about being AAA approved, plus if the shop is A.S.E. Certified technician.

Driving your new auto in the driving rain could be perilous In reality, thousands of auto mishaps every year were triggered by wet driving circumstances.

Make sure you get in the routine of often checking your auto tires. It is a reliable idea to every time check your auto tires before you hit the highway. To make sure your auto tires are functioning at their best, be certain that you achieve the following normal maintenance:

Be sure you keep your auto tires properly inflated. The correct air pressure for your auto tires is stated clearly by the car manufacturer and may be found on the car placard situated on auto door edge, door post, glove box door or fuel door. It is in addition listed in the auto owner's manual. The number stated on the side of the auto tire is absolutely not the suggested air pressure. It is the maximum air pressure for that auto tire.

While out driving your auto, you ought to know easy methods to pull through from a spin out. Skids might even happen to the most precautious car drivers. If your auto does slide, remember to not slam on the automobile's brakes, and you should not pump the brakes if you happen to enjoy an anti-lock braking system (ABS). Instead use force to the auto brakes in a firm way and turn the auto in the course of the slide.

Stay a safe space from the auto in front of you.

It takes about three times more to stop completely on damp streets than on dry roads. Given that more distance is required to stop, it is essential not to tailgate. Drive a little greater than two auto lengths between you and the car ahead of you.

How to recover from hydroplaning.

As soon as it rains, water makes a barrier linking the street and your auto tires. The liquid film that forms causes you to loose traction and glide or hydroplane on the waters surface. In the event this occurs, don't hit the brakes. It is better to take your foot off the gas, grip the steering in place, and lightly put on the breaks. In the event you own a manual transmission, push in the clutch and let the auto slow down on the car or trucks own.

Nordonia Goodyear is serving the Northfield, Macedonia, Nordonia, Walton Hills, Hudson, Twinsburg, Penninsula, and Brecksville Ohio areas since 1982. They are A.S.E. Certified Technicians. They can check your automobile's battery, tire pressure, and tire tread while you wait, or provide you a ride to work or home. Sydney's Car Parking Rental Market is Set to Explode

By: Angela Myers

If you have driven through Sydney in more recent times it is obvious that there is a high demand for parking spaces and the parking spaces that are available are very expansive.

This will continue as Sydney's population grows and our car manufacturing industry booms.

With few official council car parks available to commuters, and little subsidizing of this cost by employers, a clear demand exists for quality and affordable car park space. As a result, new services have arisen allowing those who may have a spare spot in Sydney to connect them with the commuters who are in such desperate need. This ends up being a win-win situation for all parties involved.

Now is the time to get in on a share of this exciting new market. As reported recently, parking in Sydney is big business with parking costs going through the roof. This has lead to the private parking market being primed to explode.

With the internet making it easier than ever before to advertise private parking spots or car parks, there is no need to go through any huge expense to advertise a spare space you may have. Putting up an ad for your Sydney car park is only a click away, with extremely profitable results for this most passive service you are providing. Easier money could not be made!

Not only is this easy money in your pocket, but think of all the people you could be helping who are in desperate need of parking.

The stressed businessman who is running late to a meeting and has to pay over $40 to park for a few hours will be all too happy to thank you for giving him that alternative of his own private Sydney parking spot that will be there for him every day, or the employees who have been left with no other option but to commute on crowded city busses each morning will now have the to rent your parking space saving them time and money.

There is no reason not to participate in this type of service if you have parking to spare that is just sitting, unused, somewhere in the city.

The growing demand for parking in Sydney is a major concern, but with car parking rental opportunities fast becoming a popular trend, Sydney's parking issues could be driving customers to your door, literally!

It’s basically instant money for you, and a big sigh of relief for commuters and other visitors to the city.
